About Us
Evening Vet in Long Bay was started with a simple goal: to offer straightforward, classic veterinary care—no upselling, no surprise reminders, and no after-hours fees. After years of working throughout the UK and New Zealand Dr Greg has been exposed to different methods and environments and took these experiences as inspriration to create a clinic that offers the best care, for pets and owners alike.
In this start up phase, the clinic is open Monday to Thursday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm-ish, and Sunday 12:00pm to 8:00pm—hours that work better for people who have jobs, kids, or just a busy life. There may be some reduced day availability as we get everything streamlined, however we are available to contact on 09 217 9249 and reception@eveningvet.com during these hours (and phones calls will be answered after 8am during the day) – please call with enquiries.
We offer everything you’d expect from a full-service clinic—checkups, diagnostics, surgery, vaccines as required, dentals and more.
If a procedure needs to be done outside of our hours outlined above, we can take your pet in during the day and discharges will be in the evening. This can all be discussed at time of consultation.
Please note: we are not an overnight clinic, pets are home to bed with their owners each night.

Surgery
Our head Vetenarian, Greg, has been putting bones back together and tending to unalligned joints for a decade now, and he is happy to advise you on the best treatment for your pet, whether in clinic or referring out for specialist care.
Greg can perform routine surgeries, spays and dentistry, however he is skilled in advanced treatments which include fracture repair, hip, stifle and shoulder orthopedic procedures.
Exotics
We have a decade of experience with Parrots and native birds, it is always a pleasure to have a few feathered patients. Please note we cannot take in wildlife to look after, we direct you to bird rescue where they can be recuperated fully.
Medicine
Dog, Bird, Cat, Cattle, Sheep, Horse? With a suite of inhouse blood analysers, you name the organ, be it liver, kidney, pancreas? We can test if its running properly.
The clinic has a brand new DR X-Ray system which sends crystal clear images from the detector panel to the computer viewer in seconds.
A portable ultrasound tablet for heart scans, abdominal scans and pregnancy scans is one of our more handy tools in the clinic.
We are particularly fond of the microscope with a built in HD screen, with this both client and vets can share the view of what it is we find on those microscope slide samples.
All this equipment makes it quick and easy to review, analyse and show you what we found on those samples we took right there in consult.

Gregor is an avid spearfisherman and a licensed pilot, hobbies that reflect his love of things with carburettors and the natural world. He also enjoys gardening, restoring old cars for road trips and spending time with his family. Sadly his one legged tomcat remains in the UK and he is currently petless, in a furless house. For now
